Hi, I'm Mel!

Welcome to Mel's Crocheted Creations!

I've been crocheting for 40 years, ever since I picked up my first hook at 8 years old. What started as a fun hobby making gifts for family and friends has grown into a lifelong passion that's touched every part of my life.

Over the years, my crochet journey has taken many paths. I began selling finished items and hats, which eventually led me to design newborn photography props. I even took a few years to work as a newborn photographer myself! As a mom of three (now 22, 19, and 17), and running my in-home daycare for 23 years, crochet has been the thread that connects it all. I've used my skills to create gifts, crafts, and bring joy to my own kids, my daycare kids, and my nieces and nephews. My family is truly at the core of all my creations.

In 2022, I stepped out of my comfort zone and started designing my own patterns. I fell in love with it! I discovered a passion for selling at markets, and that's where my design focus comes from. All my patterns are inspired by my love for children and markets, and they're designed to be mostly no-sew or low-sew – perfect for market prepping.

Tank the Turtle was my first BEST selling pattern, and it gave me the confidence to continue this journey. I'm excited to keep designing and sharing patterns that help fellow crocheters create beautiful, market-ready pieces.
